Explore Phang Nga Bay Tour - by Speedboat
Our Explore Phang Nga Bay by Speedboat tour is completely unique, with the opportunity to snorkel as well as visit the 'iconic' tour destinations of James Bond island and Koh Panyi - the Muslim “floating” fishing village all in one day.
Our tour begins with a 7 am (approx.) pick up, arrival at the pier around 7.45-8 am from there we embark on the speedboat and head north into the bay to visit Phanak Island. Phuket Sail Tours has a private arrangement with local expert paddle men to meet us at the very best canoeing locations – guiding you right through the caves to the exciting hidden lagoons within Phanak or Hong Island.
Next stop is James Bond island - made famous as the location for the movie The Man With the Golden Gun - to take photos and hear the fascinating local history of the island.
Lunch is at the fascinating Kho Panyi fishing Village, and we take you on a guided tour past the souvenir shopping to the real heart of the village. After lunch we view the ancient cave paintings on Kao Kee-un, and if conditions are right the secret Boomerang Hong, where we swim inside a hidden lagoon. After lunch we head off to Krabi Province (a 30 minute trip) to the gorgeous island of Koh Hong. Here you can go on a nature walk through the island and view the Tsunami boat memorial, relax on the white sand beach, try snorkelling, swim in the clear water and feed the tropical fish that come right up to eat out of your hand.
Things to note:
At about 4 pm we return back to our office and aim to have you back at your hotel by 5.30 pm. Our timing on the day will vary depending on weather, tides, currents, and what other tour operators are doing.
For this tour we leave from the very north east of Phuket island – a place called Ao Po, which is about 1 hour by minivan from the main tourist areas. Leaving from Ao Po allows us to see and do more in the Bay than any other operator.
Like all of our tours, we seek to keep away from crowds as much as possible and show the locations to their best advantage.
We provide goggles and snorkel, but fins are not necessary as we snorkel off the beach and in shallow water. Koh Hong is a beautiful place where you can see and watch tropical fish and try some snorkelling, but conditions (such as visibility) can vary so if snorkelling is a main priority for you, please choose our Phi Phi island or Racha island tours instead.

1. Phuket Sail Tours does NOT recommend speedboat tours for pregnant women or people who have existing back or spinal conditions. Please feel free to ask us for more information if you have any questions.
2. Phuket Sail Tours does NOT allow guests to paddle themselves through caves - we have guides to do it for you. Allowing guests to paddle in complicated caves with varying currents is unfair, unsafe, and irresponsible. Experience is not the issue, as we also aim to protect the caves so we don't break fragile stalactites and formations.
If you would like to have free time paddling outside of the cave, please ask your guide. They will be happy to show you where you can go.
